Nanbantei.

Nanbantei is the place to go for unpretencious, authentic japanese yakitori. Hidden at the top of Far East Plaza, this yakitori bar has been around for 20 years, the nondescript exterior wouldn't make you jump in excitement to want to go in. After hearing quite abit about the place and finally caving in, I've honestly never looked back. Freshly cooked meat skewers is served right out of the grill to you, everything I've had has been delicious and I'm not sure if there is anything I wouldn't recommend even though I wish I could say I've tried the entire menu. The place gets pretty packed every other day so reservations are definitely recommended, its tiny with only a bar counter for guests to sit around on or small tables at the side of the restaurant but the cozy atmosphere really makes up for the experience- reminding me so much of my favourite way to dine in traditional eateries in Japan. I'd say go for one of the courses the menu offers if you're there for dinner. For 12 sticks of yakitori served with rice, miso soup, pickles, salad and a dessert, its more than worth while and you get to try quite a variety of yakitori the menu boasts. Delizioussss. Oh! And they serve really good tempura too. I can vouch for their tempura because its one of the only tempuras I've had in Singapore since my trips to Tokyo that I apporve of. YUM. Nanbantei is located 14 Scotts Road #05-132, Far East Plaza, Singapore in
